Come support Cebu Rugby at the Camp Lapu-Lapu field in Lahug at 12pm July27.
Witness young Cebuano talent take on the old rugby farts of yesteryear.
Expected
to be the comeback after 3 straight losses , the Low Flyers will be
bringing in the heavy guns after ambushing and illegally hiring 3 kiwis
drinking at the local pub to play for them. As stubborn as the youth
are, this will not phase the young Dragons as they will be not be
informed of this information and continue playing an exciting running
game.
Beers and smokes will be available for hydration and oxygen intake between breaks.
Ambulance and medical staff will NOT be at hand, so please bring your own life support.
Go the Dragons!!!

Date: 3 May 2006
Gentlemen,
The selection panel have chosen the following squad of 25 players for the Guam Test match on 20th May 2006. It will be decided tonight whether we will travel with 25 or with 22. In the event that it is 22 the last three on the list will be on standby in case of injuries, failure to obtain visas etc. Of course, with over 2 weeks to go before the match there could be all manner of reasons why some players may not travel and therefore those who have not made the squad should not lose heart and should keep fit.
The board of the PRFU would like to congratulate those selected and know that you will make every effort to be prepared for the game and once on the pitch will perform to your highest levels both as individuals and as a team.

Hi All,
Good to get some local press in Cebu - good work Jerry & Dave. I’ll paste this article in the forums I post at when I get home from work tonight.
Congratulations on all the Cebu players that made the national team.
Have a good Easter break.
Cheers

Four Cebuano rugby players make it to the national team
Four players from the newly-formed Cebu City Rugby Football Club (CCRFC) were selected to be part of the Philippine rugby team.
Jerry Branzuela, Jehtro Estimo, Noel Flowers and Paulin Padayhag were handpicked by the Philippine Rugby Football Union (PRFU) to be part of the national rugby team, which is scheduled to see action against the national teams of
Guam
and
Pakistan
.
The four
Cebu
players showed excellent form in the recently-concluded Manila 10s Rugby Tournament last March 25 -26 at the Nomads Sports Club, in Merville,
Paranaque
.
Despite being only a seven-month old team, the Cebu Dragons reached the semifinals of the
Manila
10s. They were beaten by the veteran-laden Tequila Mockingbirds team of
Hong Kong
in the semifinals.
Manila 10s
The
Manila
10s tournament had 32 teams from 17 different countries. Five of the teams are from the
Philippines
: Cebu Dragons, Alabang Eagles, Philippine Air Force, MAAP and Nomads.
Another Cebu Dragons player, forward Dennis Pantaleon was voted as the Most Promising Young Player of the tournament.
Of the four Cebuanos, Branzuela and Flowers have the most rugby experience as they both grew up playing rugby in
South Africa
and
Australia
, respectively. Padayhag is no rookie in the field of rugby either as he was part of the Philippine national rugby team which won the gold in the last Southeast Asian Games.
While Estimo had represented
Cebu
and the
Philippines
in various powerlifting events. Estimo co-holds the Philippine record for the dead lift.
Training
The four Cebuanos will fly to
Manila
this month to begin training with the national squad to prepare for the series of test matches starting with
Guam
in May.
The CCRFC holds practice sessions every Tuesday and Thursday at
7:30 p.m.
and on Sunday at
2 p.m.
at the Sandtrap, along Ma.
Luisa Road
in Banilad,
Cebu
City
. For inquiries regarding the sport and club sponsorship details, please contact Jerry Branzuela at 422-9656 or 09266916490.
